Some Associates are unable to accept insurance at this time but do offer a reduced private pay rate.
What is Play Therapy
Play therapy, distinct from regular play, involves therapists aiding children in addressing and resolving their own issues. It leverages natural learning methods for children, promoting communication, emotional expression, behavior modification, problem-solving, and relational skills. Through play, children gain a safe space to explore and express thoughts and feelings, fostering psychological growth and development.
What is EMDR?
EMDR is a structured therapy endorsed by EMDRIA, involving brief focus on trauma memories with simultaneous bilateral stimulation to reduce their vividness and emotion. It's extensively researched and proven effective for trauma and PTSD recovery.
What is the difference between a LPC-Associate and a LPC-Supervisor?
At Hearten, some therapists are designated as "Associate," indicating their expertise in various therapeutic modalities and populations. An LPC-Associate holds a provisional license, meeting educational and competency requirements for LPC in Texas, but requiring more counseling experience under an LPC-Supervisor.
How long are sessions?
Individual sessions are 50-55 minutes long.
Do you require parent consent?
Hearten Counseling requires both parents / guardians to sign consents before they child is seen by one of our therapists.
